9th Annual Charity Golf Outing to benefit cancer research

Tekmark Global Solutions continued the tradition raising money and awareness for cancer research as a 9-year participant in the Charity Golf Outing on July 31, 2017. Over 280 golfers from 65 technology companies came together along with the Executive Golf Committee comprising major corporations throughout the USA, and over 25 volunteers who helped make the outing a complete success! For the past 9 years, this event has raised money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, raising over $500,000 this year alone. We take pride in knowing that these donations fuel research that ultimately leads to better and more effective diagnosis, treatment options, and prevention methods and detection of cancer, as well as increase patient access to clinical trials and cutting-edge cancer research.

Dr. Roger Strair, Chief Medical Oncologist from Rutgers University’s CINJ, was the opening speaker followed by Eric LeGrand, former football defensive tackle at Rutgers, who gave an inspiring speech about his recovery in the hospital and his new outlook on life.

Executive Co-Chairs, Guy DelGrande, CEO of Tekmark Global Solutions, and Guy Chiarello, President of First Data, started this outing back in 2008 and it has grown and become more successful every year. Guy and Guy joined the golfers for a round of golf on 3 courses, followed by a live and silent auction and over 50 raffle prizes. This year’s outing was full of excitement with 2 Hole in One winners, winning a car and a vacation!

A special thank you to all of our volunteers whose time and efforts helped make this philanthropic day a huge success! Tekmark had such a humbling experience working for an incredible cause for one of their most memorable outings yet!
